Too many filmmakers proclaim that they produce quality entertainment which motivates, uplifts, encourages and inspires audiences of all ages … I say, blah-blah-blah. Combine a good story with strengths in organizing a film crew and demand engaging performances from actors, and then a filmmaker produces quality entertainment. Of The Lake Productions films is not to motivate or inspire, or to be role models. We film to tell the Story. And I believe when I think about something enough I am actually channeling the universe to make the Story come alive. The images flash into my mind like powerful air currents and for this reason, I am compelled to film. Let it be surprising, edgy or offensive.
Adding moxie to the mix helps get the Story on film. The courage I have, the simplicity of which I survived without comfort, living on spaghetti, barely having the cash to produce my films, let alone pay the mortgage. There are other risks that I am willing to take for the Story because Of The Lake Productions need to make something that is called cinema.
On the above note I would like to thank my crew, especially Jenny and Chuck who have been by my side telling stories since 2005. Thank you Jenny and Chuck for lubricating my creativity on more than one occasion. I write screenplays, but no screenplay can get on film, or in the can, without a phenomenal crew. In this I am blessed. I know my crew’s responsibilities are difficult, because they do all the leg work. Yet we all know movie making is fun, always giving us a wonderful time.
To the dear movie-goer, thank you for riding along when the images flash into my mind and I’m compelled to entertain you. You won’t be disappointed.
